Schwing has announced their 2014 service seminar schedule, which has again been divided into three different levels to appeal to a wide audience of concrete pumping professionals. The four-day seminars are held at Schwing’s dedicated training facility in White Bear, Minnesota and include multi-media training aids and hands-on troubleshooting. Students also receive a training manual on CD-ROM along with a print ed copy.
Putzmeister America, Inc.’s vice president and CFO, Stephen Crane, has been named president and CEO of Putzmeister Brazil, in conjunction with his current responsibili heading the finance and information systems operations for the Americas.
As president and CEO of Putzmeister Brazil, Crane will maintain overall responsibility for the strategy and performance of Putzmeister’s rapidly expanding operation in Brazil.
Geroquip, Inc., with offices in Quebec and Laval, Canada, has been appointed the new Schwing boom pump dealer for the province of Quebec. Schwing has 16 boom pump models from 17 to 61 meters with a choice of eight boom designs. The company has been a Schwing stationary pump dealer for more than 15 years. “With their excellent reputation for customer service and extensive knowledge of all things concrete, Geroquip is a great asset for us and our French Canadian customers,” according to Tom O’Malley, Schwing vice president of sales and marketing— North America.
Putzmeister America, Inc. has named James Rogers southeast regional sales manager. In this role, he will manage sales of boom pumps, trailer pumps and Telebelt® placing systems in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Schwing America has announced organizational changes to put additional emphasis on research and development of concrete handling technologies. Long-time Schwing employee Tom Eggert will lead this strategic expansion, utilizing his industry experience. “Tom has demonstrated his keen ability to identify customer-focused solutions in his 35-year history with the company,” explains Brian Hazelton, Schwing CEO. “In this newly created position, he will be focused on developing and bringing to market innovative products for the future.”
In November, 2013, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) inducted Friedrich Schwing Sr. (1909-1992), founder of Schwing GmbH, Herne, Germany into their prestigious Hall of Fame. Ceremonies were held at the Association’s Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.
S.E. Intermat, owner and organizer of the INTERMAT trade shows, and Hanley Wood, LLC, organizer of World of Concrete, have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a new event, “World of Concrete Europe.”

Putzmeister Brazil, a subsidiary of Putzmeister America, Inc., recently delivered its 100th piece of equipment produced in the country, a new generation 36Z-meter truckmounted concrete boom pump.
To commemorate the milestone, Putzmeister Brazil employees attended a ceremony that took place at the factory in Atibaia, Brazil, located 40 miles from São Paulo.
The Safety and Risk Management Council (SRMC) of the American Society of Concrete Contractors, St. Louis, has added five new titles to its list of safety bulletins: Preventing Underground Utility Strikes; Slips, Trips, and Falls; Report Workers’ Compensation Claims Promptly; The Importance of Proper Accident Investigation; and Safe Traffic Management on Construction Sites.
