In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Schwing America has made changes to parts and service departments to better serve the needs of the customer. Some call center employees are working from home with complete access to customer files and parts inventory to quickly provide information and support.
Phone calls are routed as usual, including to the phones of the home-based employees.. In-house call center employees have spread out their work areas to enforce social distancing guidelines. The Schwing call center remains open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. central time.
Liebherr USA, Co. marked a milestone on April 6, 2020—the company formally moved into a newly expanded campus in Newport News, Virginia. The facilities house employees who work in administration, finance, human resources, sales, information technology, marketing, product support and distribution for nine different product units under the Liebherr USA, Co. umbrella.

Through our efforts with the North American Concrete Alliance (NACA), the ACPA advocates for legislation that favorably affects the concrete and concrete pumping industry. NACA is a coalition of 12 concrete-related trade associations dedicated to addressing industry-wide priorities in the areas of research, education and government affairs.
While the country continues to be consumed by the historic crises facing our nation—the coronavirus pandemic public health threat, the economic downturn created by the pandemic’s mitigation measures and the nationwide protests calling for racial equality—Washington works on each of these issues. Congress is expected to pass more COVID legislation this month, and the administration continues to implement the trillions of dollars of programmatic funding Congress passed in March and April. Of great interest to the ACPA is recent activity in both the House and Senate on infrastructure programs. We’ll touch on the pandemic economic issues and the legislative movement on infrastructure.
Always looking to improve safety, ACPA member company Conco Pumping purchased one of the first ACPA wireless boom simulators in October 2019. The unit was sent to the company’s Southern California operation so general manager Doug Marquis could test it and become familiar with it.
The Bob Weatherton Scholarship Fund is proud to offer scholarships to eligible ACPA members and their families, as well as to members’ employees and their families. Scholarships are for undergraduate, graduate and vocational students in fields related to Concrete, Concrete Pumping, Construction and Engineering, Construction Management and Administration and Vocational studies related to concrete pumps and trucks.
The truck lineup for the 2021 Mack Trucks Calendar is set, after thousands of Mack fans cast their vote on Mack social channels to choose winners in six categories.
