Concrete Pump Repair (CPR) recently completed the redesign and rollout of its new website.

The recipients were honored at the 15th Annual ASA Awards Banquet held in conjunction with World of Concrete, February 4, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. These awards confirm and demonstrate the exceptional advantages of shotcrete placement of concrete.

At their annual installation of officers, the Engineering Contractors’ Association (ECA) awarded Doug Marquis of Conco Pumping with their Personal Safety Award. Doug was recognized for his exceptional work in the construction field forwarding worker safety. His achievements include working with equipment manufacturers to improve the safety of boom pump operators in 2018. He improved their safety by collaboratively developing systems to create tie-off points when working on boom pumps. The tie-off points aid in fall prevention and related injuries.
According to the National Safety Council (NSC), a “near miss” is an unplanned event that did not result in injury, illness or damage, but had the potential to do so. In fact, only a fortunate break in the chain of events prevented these things from happening.
Carl Walker was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and those who know Carl know to never refer to him as being from Dallas! Carl is a loyal Fort Worth native and attended schools in the suburb of River Oaks. He and his wife, Rebekah, have been married for thirty years and have three children: Callie, Robert and Levi; as well as three grandchildren: Dominic, Henry and Poppy, with another granddaughter, Charlotte, due on his birthday, June 18.
This year, the World of Concrete cocktail party went with another music theme—this time with a “Surf’s Up” motif. A DJ spun classic surfer music and clips of famous beach movies were shown on the big screen throughout the event.
Attendees donned straw hats and had their photos taken in a cut-out classic VW van emblazoned with the ACPA logo, all against a tropical backdrop. And what would the beach be without a margarita bar? Good times!
At the ACPA Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation, the ACPA held elections for the Executive Board. The meeting convened February 5, 2020 in conjunction with World of Concrete 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The novel coronavirus plaguing the world has generated an unprecedented response in its scope, size, and speed within Washington. Between March 6 and March 27, Congress passed, and the president signed, three laws to provide relief directly to individuals, businesses and local governments with a total price tag over $2.3 trillion. On March 13, President Trump declared a national state of emergency, which opened up to $50 billion in additional funding and regulatory waivers needed to allow swift government action. Many states have requested and received “major” emergency declarations from the White House, releasing even more resources and regulatory relief.
