Concrete Pump Supply Announces CPMA Certification

Concrete Pump Supply, an Atlanta-based company and member of the Concrete Pump Manufacturers Association (CPMA), announces their successful completion and ASME B30.27 certification as a concrete pumping systems manufacturer. Concrete Pump Supply has always produced high quality products that perform under the most tested of circumstances, but is now officially certified by the CPMA.

SCHWING Demos Its New S 51 SX Pump

SCHWING America recently held two real-world demonstrations of our new S 51 SX pump at our factory: one on August 15 and the other on September 15. SCHWING customers from around the country, as well as SCHWING employees, were invited to see the new SCHWING S 51 SX in action.

The S 51 SX features a five-section RZ5 placing boom with a 2525H-6 pump kit, and outputs 213 cubic yards per hour at 1,169 psi of pressure on concrete. The pump has an impressive vertical reach of 164’5” and a horizontal reach of 147’4”.

SCHWING America Revamps Sales Team

SCHWING America is excited to announce several changes within its knowledgeable and customer-focused sales team.

Mark Berggren has been promoted to director of aftermarket parts. In his past 26 years at SCHWING, he has made important contributions as part of the publications, training and marketing departments. In his new position, Berggren will be responsible for sales of genuine SCHWING parts for the company’s complete line of truck-mounted concrete pumps, stationary pumps and truck-mounted conveyors.

Cemstone Recognized by National Ready Mixed Concrete Association for Commitment to Environmental Excellence

Cemstone was recently recognized nationally for its commitment to environmental excellence. The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) presented the Commitment to Environmental Excellence — Central Region award to Cemstone for its Worthington, Minnesota ready mixed concrete plant. This marks the eleventh time since 2011, and ninth year in a row that a Cemstone plant has been recognized with this award.

ASCC Presents Its Sixth Gaining Strength Award

The Emerging Leaders Committee of the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC) presented its sixth Gaining Strength Award to Leo Zhang, virtual construction manager for The Conco Companies, Fontana, California, at the 2023 ASCC Annual Conference in September. The award was established to acknowledge up-and-coming individuals aged forty and under from member companies who go above and beyond to promote and professionally represent the concrete industry. Candidates are judged based on letters of recommendation from industry organizations.

Forward With Kriete Rolls On

Wisconsin-based commercial truck and equipment dealer Kriete Truck Centers today rolled out a “trailer” for Season 2 of its social media video series, Forward With Kriete. Like Season 1, which debuted in June of this year, the four new episodes celebrate individual customers and the essential role trucking plays in society.

New UAW Demands Ignore Months of Good Faith Bargaining

GREENSBORO, NC – After previously agreeing to what the UAW referred to as a “record” tentative agreement with Mack Trucks, United Auto Workers leadership today presented the company with a surprising new list of unreasonable economic demands, seemingly returning to day one of negotiations, and ignoring three months of good faith bargaining between the parties.

Given the UAW’s stated demands, Mack advised the union that the company looks forward to returning to the bargaining table on Monday and hopes the UAW leadership makes more realistic proposals.

ASCC Announces Foundation Scholarships

ST. LOUIS, MO – The American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC) Education, Research and Development Foundation, St. Louis, MO, has awarded two scholarships for 2023 to students in the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program. They are Arie Lynn Milam who attends Middle Tennessee State University and Alejandro Gonzolez-Ortiz who attends California State University Chico. Each award winner received $5,000 and was recognized at the 2023 ASCC Annual Conference held in Grand Rapids, MI.
