Putzmeister Mexico, a division of Putzmeister America, Inc., has hired Fermin Oviedo as sales coordinator. In the role, he will be responsible for coordinating orders between the sales department and production plant, coordinating and receiving chassis for production, and communicating directly with customers on their orders.
Another ACPA member has joined the pink parade of concrete pumps supporting breast cancer awareness. “Everyone knows someone who is affected by this disease,” says Marcus King, owner of Modern Concrete Pumping, Newington, Connecticut. In King’s case, it was an operator’s wife and a dispatcher at a ready mix plant who were affected, so Modern decided to order its Schwing S 20 boom pump painted pink.
Putzmeister America, Inc. has extended its parts customer support hours to better serve customers across all time zones. Putzmeister parts staff is now available to process orders and answer questions weekdays from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Central Standard Time.
Schwing has announced its 2016 service seminar schedule, offering more choices to appeal to a wider audience of concrete pumping professionals. In addition to Level 2 for mechanics and Level 3 for advanced mechanics, the company will offer an SP school, focusing on the stationary pump line. The seminars are held at Schwing’s dedicated training facility in White Bear, Minnesota, and include multi-media training aids and handson troubleshooting.
Putzmeister America, Inc. has launched a new mobile website to better serve customers in the field and on the go. The new mobile-friendly site gives visitors access to everything the full website offers, but in an easier-to-navigate format.
A new Schwing video, narrated by Tom O’Malley, vice-president and general manager–concrete pumps, illustrates the Schwing EASy system of one-sided outrigger operation. Using aerial video and close-ups of the Vector control panel, viewers will see how the EASy system provides precise instructions to the operator.
Putzmeister America, Inc., has hired Raul Flores as its new West Coast parts sales manager, responsible for sales and customer service for the company’s expanding parts business.
Cemstone has been chosen as a recipient in the 2015 National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) Excellence in Quality Awards competition, the fifth year Cemstone has received this award. The NRMCA’s Producer Excellence in Quality Award recognizes the commitment to quality initiatives of ready mix concrete producer members.
Two documents from the American Society of Concrete Contractors, the Safety Manual and the Safety Management Plan, have been newly revised and updated to reflect changes in OSHA regulations and the concrete construction industry. These programs were written by concrete contractors, for concrete contractors, with the goal of helping the industry as a whole. Both were written and revised by ASCC’s Safety & Risk Management Council (SRMC).
The ACPA recently elected new board members for regions 2, 4 and 6. Re-elected members include: Gary Brown, region 2 director; and Tony Inglese, region 4. New to the ACPA Board is Chris Pernicano, region 6 director.
A new form is available for ACPA members to facilitate the evaluation of an operator’s capability in operating a concrete pump. Located on the ACPA website in the members-only login section, the form can be downloaded, customized with company name and printed for easy use.
