This instructional video educates workers in safe work practices when placing concrete with a concrete pump. It is designed to educate workers of areas that can be dangerous, how to disable the pump in an emergency, as well as safe hose handling techniques.

Malisch, Ph.D., PE, concrete construction specialist, American Society of Concrete Contractors, (ASCC), received the World of Concrete (WOC) Legacy Award February 2, 2016 just prior to the show’s opening in Las Vegas. WOC established the Legacy Award to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the concrete and masonry industries, and who have left a lasting mark on the show.

Anthony DeCarlo, Cincinnati, OH; Chris Forster, Tustin, CA; and Mario Garza, Southville, MI, were re-elected vice-presidents and Keith Wayne, Kannapolis, NC, was re-elected as treasurer.

LOUIS, MO February 5 -- The Decorative Concrete Council, a specialty council of the American Society of Concrete Contractors, St. Louis, Mo., has announced the winners of its eighth annual Decorative Concrete Awards competition. The winners were recognized at a ceremony at the World of Concrete, Las Vegas, on February 2, 2016.

Gene Burbidge was awarded a 2016 Pioneer award at the 2016 Annual Meeting & Awards Presentation at World of Concrete 2016. His family was in attendance to accept the award in his honor.
