ST. LOUIS, MO – Bev Garnant, executive director of the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, announced today that the Concrete Polishing Association of America, (CPAA) will merge with ASCC. CPAA will become the Concrete Polishing Council, a specialty council of ASCC. ASCC has three other councils: the Decorative Concrete Council, the Safety & Risk Management Council, and the Manufacturer’s Advisory Council.
On June 29, a valued friend of the concrete placing industry, Don Matthews, 69, passed away in Emory, Texas on his small family farm. Don battled cancer with strength and courage for about two years; during that time, he encouraged others to call whenever they needed assistance, even when he was in the hospital. Words can’t properly express the love, passion and dedication he had for our industry and the people in it.

Putzmeister America, Inc. has announced the return of Jim Focareto as senior vice president of finance and CFO. In the role, he will be responsible for all financial, management information system and control matters.
Schwing America recently recently passed its audit to remain a member in good standing with the Concrete Pump Manufacturers Association (CPMA). The audit is conducted every three years and is one requirement of membership in the association, which is dedicated to supplying equipment and accessories to the concrete pumping industry that meet or exceed the requirements contained in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B30.27 Safety Standard.

In the Kansas City area, the company now provides service and parts support for Schwing customers.
