Putzmeister America, Inc. has hired Maximiliano Josef Wagner as general manager at Putzmeister Brazil, a division of Putzmeister America. In his new role, he will manage operational aspects of the business.

Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping is pleased to announce that Gary Bernardez has joined the team as chief operating officer of the company. Bernardez has over 29 years of experience in the construction and industrial services industries. He was most recently senior vice president of global services for Fluor Corporation, and president of AMECO, the equipment services unit of Fluor.

DCC Volunteers Install Concrete for CO Vets Monument

ST. LOUIS, MO, July 2—Volunteer members of the Decorative Concrete Council (DCC), St. Louis, MO, traveled to Ken Caryl, CO (Southwest Denver) on May 28-29 to place and finish a decorative concrete slab for the Ken Caryl Veterans Monument. The monument is being built to commemorate veterans as well as those on active duty and in the reserves in all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. The DCC is a specialty council of the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC).

CIM Students Place Wall for 347 Research

ST. LOUIS, MO, May 28, 2015 – Concrete Industry Management (CIM) students at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), Murphysboro, TN, place concrete in a U-Shaped wall section formed the day before. The placement was part of a research project funded by the ASCC Education, Research and Development Foundation, St. Louis, MO, titled “Evaluation and Examination of ACI 347.3R ‘Guide to Formed Concrete Surfaces’.”

ASCC to Hold 14th Annual Conference in Dallas this Fall

Concrete contractors, manufacturers, designers and other industry professionals will gather for three days of educational events and networking.

ASCC to Offer Legacy Safety Leadership Program at Annual Conference in September

ST. LOUIS, MO, May 14, 2015 – The American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, MO, will offer the Legacy Safety Leadership Program on September 25, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its Annual Conference in Dallas, TX. The Legacy Program was designed and developed by cement and ready-mix giant CEMEX.

Putzmeister America, Inc. Announces Customer Support Group Personnel Changes

In conjunction with the newly reorganized Putzmeister Parts Sales Customer Support Group, Putzmeister America, Inc. has announced a number of personnel changes for several of its longtime employees.

Eric Zimmermann has been promoted to director of parts sales and pipe technology. In his new role, Zimmermann will be responsible for overseeing Putzmeister’s new Parts Sales Customer Support Group, while continuing his leadership role managing Putzmeister Pipe Technology.

Donnelly Transfers to Role of Schwing Western Regional Manager—Boom Pumps

Schwing customers in the western U.S. and Canada will now be served by Matt Donnelly in the new position of western regional manager. Matt will apply his 10 years of experience with Schwing to represent the full line of boom pumps and separate placing booms in California, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, Alaska, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. He is also responsible for the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.

Putzmeister America, Inc. recognized eight of its domestic and international distributor partners with its annual “Distributor of the Year” awards at a VIP event in Las Vegas during the 2015 World of Concrete trade show.

Thomas Concrete Machinery, Inc. won Domestic Spare Parts and Pipe System Distributor of the Year and Domestic Thom-Katt® Distributor of the Year; Walker Equipment Company won Domestic Mortar Machine Distributor of the Year; and Hite Concrete Equipment won Domestic Large Line Distributor of the Year.

Schwing Adds Stationary Pump Western Regional Manager

Schwing America has added a Western regional manager for its popular line of stationary pumps. Rich Ellis, former regional manager for boom pumps in the territory, will have expanded geographical responsibilities, covering the entire western half of the U.S. and Canada. “The demand for the stationary pump products requires a dedicated regional manager to provide the customer service expected from Schwing,” according to Tom O’Malley, vice president, general manager for concrete pumps.
