Putzmeister America, Inc. has rehired Carl Michelson as a full-time technical services representative, responsible for visiting customers onsite to deliver and set up new equipment, conduct education sessions and service older equipment.
Michelson began his career as a technical services representative with Putzmeister 20 years ago. He then worked as a subcontractor for Putzmeister in the Philippines for three years prior to rejoining Putzmeister full-time. He holds an associate’s degree in electronic equipment technology.
In response to increasing customer demand, Schwing America has added another boom inspector to the staff. Chuck Witte, longtime certified boom inspector and former Schwing employee, is back on the job. Witte has performed hundreds of boom inspections throughout his career. “We are grateful to have Chuck back at Schwing because experience is a great asset in boom inspections, and Chuck has tremendous experience,” according to Glen Grabowski, Schwing support manager. The growth in boom inspections is the result of more machines back in service and the growing awareness of boom safety.
Putzmeister America, Inc. has named John Musslewhite sales manager for its new line of concrete mixers. He will be responsible for developing new business and supporting customers in the south central portion of the U.S.
Musslewhite has extensive experience with concrete mixers; he previously worked for 20 years as a sales manager for Continental Mixers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas State University.
Schwing America, has added a vice president / general manager of ready mix products. Aaron Lian joins the company with over 20 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing, with expertise in global business management and new product development.
Commenting on Lian’s hiring, Brian Hazelton, Schwing CEO said, “The ready mix product business is a key part to the overall future success of Schwing America and therefore we must continue to focus on and invest in the proper resources to support and grow this business.”
Putzmeister America, Inc. has hired Krzysztof Jechorek as a technical services representative. In his new role, Jechorek will work with the Putzmeister parts and service department to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment issues for customers.
Putzmeister America, Inc. has hired Valentin Torres as a parts sales representative. In the role, he will be responsible for working directly with customers to ensure their orders are filled accurately and efficiently.
With more than 14 years of customer service and sales experience, Torres joins Putzmeister from Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, where he worked as a service technician and provided bilingual customer service. He holds an associate’s degree in computer networking.
Putzmeister America, Inc. now requires all of its field service technicians to be Occupational and Safety Health Administration (OSHA) compliant. Each technician is required to take an OSHA outreach training course for the general industry.
“At Putzmeister, we are especially stringent on safety standards,” said Doug Brunet, director of customer support for Putzmeister. “The fact that all of our field service technicians are educated on OSHA regulations benefits our customers on any job site, especially those that are high-profile and closely regulated.”
Putzmeister America, Inc. has promoted Jim Bury to vice president— operations. In the new role, he will be responsible for personnel and policy decisions in engineering, production, documentation, quality, and test stand departments.
With 25 years of progressive responsibilities in diverse manufacturing environments and product lines, Bury has served in various roles within Putzmeister for more than 15 years. Most recently, he acted as director of engineering. In his current role, he will report to Dave Adams, Putzmeister’s president and CEO.
Putzmeister America, Inc. has promoted Tom Easter to director of production control and material planning. In his expanded position, he will assume the overall responsibility for all material planning and control, while continuing the responsibilities of his previous role as production control manager.
The American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, has released its new Employee Safety Orientation DVD for concrete contractors. The training tool was developed by members of the ASCC’s Safety & Risk Management Council (SRMC) and released at the World of Concrete 2014.
“This 40-minute presentation on the basics of concrete construction safety topics can be used by concrete contractors to educate new employees and as a refresher for seasoned workers,” says Janet Greco, SRMC chair.
