DQ FILES: THE BASICS

If you’ve been in the transportation industry for any length of time, then you’re likely familiar with driver qualification files, or DQ files. The DQ file is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) record-keeping requirement that motor carriers must meet for every employed driver.

In Memoriam: John Weatherhead

John Weatherhead passed away on April 13, 2022, in The Villages, Florida. A loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend, known for his easy smile and contagious laugh, John was a respected publisher, avid golfer, spirited traveler and a real sports aficionado.

NACA Fly-In Nets Positive Connections

In April, five ACPA members traveled to Washington, D.C., along with executive director Christi Collins, to meet with members of Congress at the annual North American Concrete Alliance (NACA) Cement & Concrete Fly-In. NACA’s two-day event featured Capitol Hill visits, briefings and a reception, during which participants discussed critical issues with key administration and congressional leaders.

Change to ASTM C94-21 Time Limit

In April 2021, ASTM C94/C94M-21, Specification for Ready-Mixed Concrete, was updated with two significant changes that do away with the 90-minute default time limit for ready mixed concrete. Since its inception in 1933, the standard has required a time limit of 1.5 hours from the start of mixing to the completion of discharge.

While the American Concrete Institute has not made such revisions, ACI 301, Specifications for Structural Concrete, refers to C94 for discharge time limits.

ACPA Launches Online Test Proctoring

Effective June 20th, 2022 all ACPA Certification Tests will be monitored by a third party online test program – Proctor U. ProctorU is a live remote proctoring service with specialized human oversight and support to create a testing atmosphere that prevents cheating, creates efficiencies and helps build equitability.
