Putzmeister America, Inc. received a Telly Award for its 2011 holiday video in the 33rd annual Telly Awards contest, which received more than 13,000 entries from around the world.
A play off of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” with a Putzmeister twist, the video was filmed by Putzmeister’s branding agency, Pewaukee, Wisconsinbased Z2 Marketing, on location at Putzmeister’s headquarters in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. It won a bronze Telly Award in the category of art direction.
Construction Forms, Inc. has entered into an agreement with a third party logistics provider (3PL’s) to help drive down the cost of freight for its customers while also offering improved delivery service. Although many 3PL’s may offer savings through consolidating partial loads into dedicated full trucks, it can also extend delivery times.
Schwing has developed a new, dynamic website with added features to educate customers and prospects about the company’s line of concrete equipment that includes truckmounted concrete pumps, stationary concrete pumps, truck mixers, ready mix reclamation systems and batch plants. Schwing’s concrete pump line includes more than 16 boom pumps and 16 stationary pumps.
Putzmeister America, Inc. has added two technical service managers to its customer support group: Noah Brumbley and Noah Callantine. In the role, they are each responsible for providing training and technical support to Putzmeister customers both over the phone and in the field.
“Both of our new technical service managers have extensive experience in the industry,” said Doug Brunet, director of customer support for Putzmeister. “We are happy to extend their service to cover all of Putzmeister’s equipment.”
Schwing has enlarged its display plus increased its presence at World of Concrete 2013 to be held in Las Vegas, February 4-8. As an original exhibitor at World of Concrete, this will be the company’s 39th consecutive year displaying at the show. The company will once again be in its signature position at booth #C5126 in the Convention Center’s Central Hall, plus there will be Schwing equipment prominent in other manufacturers’ booths throughout the show floor.

Portland Cement Association (PCA), April 30, 2012 - Stronger than expected job creation and the beginning of a construction industry recovery means gains in real construction spending will materialize this year—after seven years of consecutive declines. According to the new forecast from the Portland Cement Association (PCA), increases in cement consumption will follow.
PCA revised its fall forecast upward, anticipating a modest 3.7 percent increase in 2012, followed by a 7.6 percent jump in 2013 and a 14.1 percent increase in 2014.

New SDC Chair is Mike Schneider, senior vice president and chief people officer at Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. He started at Baker Concrete in Monroe, Ohio as a project manager in 1978 and helped open Baker’s Houston, Texas, office in 1982. During his career, he has been involved in a multitude of projects ranging from high-rise offices to automotive plants to mainline concrete paving.
Mike Poppoff, Poppoff, Inc., Moxie, Washington, has been elected first vice president of the American Society of Concrete Contractors, St. Louis, Missouri, for 2012-2013. Scott Anderson, Houston, Texas; Chris Plue, San Mateo, California and Thomas Zinchiak, Woodbine, Maryland were re-elected vice presidents. Keith Wayne, Kannapolis, North Carolina was elected secretary/ treasurer. Jack Cooney, Ft. Myers, Florida and Aaron Long, Rocky Mount, Virginia were elected as new directors.
