Mack Underscores Integration, Fuel Efficiency Benefits of 2017 Powertrain

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 3, 2016) – Emphasizing fuel efficiency, power and its pioneering tradition of integration, Mack Trucks today highlighted its 2017 Mack® powertrain, including its Mack MP® series engines, Mack mDRIVE HD 13- and 14-speed automated manual transmissions, ClearTech™ One single package Exhaust Aftertreatment System (EATS) and Mack Predictive Cruise.

Mack made the announcement at the American Trucking Associations Management Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada.

ASCC Presents 2016 Scholarships

ST. LOUIS, MO – The American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC) Education, Research and Development Foundation has awarded a scholarship to Daniel Greene, a student in the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program at Middle Tennessee State University, Murpheesboro, TN. Greene received $5,000.

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must be enrolled full time in the CIM program and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

The ASCC Foundation was created in 1989 to fund education and research that advances the quality and productivity of concrete construction.  

Concrete Polishing Council Added to ASCC

ST. LOUIS, MO – Bev Garnant, executive director of the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, announced today that the Concrete Polishing Association of America, (CPAA) will merge with ASCC.  CPAA will become the Concrete Polishing Council, a specialty council of ASCC.  ASCC has three other councils: the Decorative Concrete Council, the Safety & Risk Management Council, and the Manufacturer’s Advisory Council.

Putzmeister Named Germany’s National Public Champion in European Business Awards

Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH, Putzmeister America, Inc.’s parent company, headquartered in Germany, has been named its country’s “National Public Champion” in the prestigious European Business Awards. Selected from a highly esteemed group of competing German companies, Putzmeister will now move on to compete against 32 European companies to be named the “European Public Champion.”

Schwing Passes CPMA Audit for Certification

Schwing America recently recently passed its audit to remain a member in good standing with the Concrete Pump Manufacturers Association (CPMA). The audit is conducted every three years and is one requirement of membership in the association, which is dedicated to supplying equipment and accessories to the concrete pumping industry that meet or exceed the requirements contained in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B30.27 Safety Standard.
