Putzmeister America, Inc. has named Holger Thiel director of operations for the company’s concrete transit mixer division. In the role, he will ensure high quality and production standards in all manufacturing facilities, and work to continually enhance the mixers in conjunction with the engineering and sales teams.
Schwing has announced its 2017 service seminar schedule, offering more choices to appeal to a wider audience of concrete pumping professionals. In addition to intermediate training for operators/mechanics and advanced training for mechanics, the company will offer an SP school focusing on the stationary pump line. The seminars are held at Schwing’s dedicated training facility in White Bear, Minnesota, and include multi-media training aids and hands-on troubleshooting. Students also receive a service manual on CDROM, along with a printed copy of the training manual.
Putzmeister America, Inc. has hired Robert (Bobby) Clark as Midwest regional sales representative for the company’s parts and pipe technology divisions. In the role, he will oversee sales, and provide customer and dealer support in his region.
Bill Zachary has joined Concrete Pump Supply as an outside sales and application specialist. With over 25 years’ experience in the concrete pumping industry, Bill will support Concrete Pump Supply products for all applications. Tony Inglese re-joins the Concrete Pump Supply (CPS) team as CEO effective December 19th, 2016. In his new role, Inglese will oversee all operations for both Concrete Pump Supply as well as Enviro-Systems, Incorporated.
ST. LOUIS, MO – The Safety and Risk Management Council (SRMC) of the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, has published a new Safety Bulletin: OSHA’s New Final Rule on Crystalline Silica Dust.
The New Rule went into effect June 23, 2016 but allows a one year leeway for the industry to fully comply. The ruling cuts the Permissible Exposure Level (PEL) by half, a significant change that concrete trades need to prepare for. It also increases the amount of medical exams and recordkeeping required.
Using its 2016 National Convention as a launching pad, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) has unveiled Build with Strength, a multi-million dollar coordinated industry campaign to better educate the design / build and code communities about the benefits of concrete construction in the low- to mid-rise sector, and in general.

Schwing America Inc. (SAI) has announced its new leadership team of Bill Murray and Tom O’Malley following the recent resignation of former CEO, Brian Hazelton. Bill Murray, CFO for the past four years at SAI, has been named as CEO effective immediately. For two years prior to that, Murray held the position of chief restructuring officer and independent board member. Over his 30-year business career, Murray has held senior level finance, operating and consulting positions in several companies, including divisions of Daimler Chrysler and General Motors.
