Requirements


  1. Minimum age of 18 years old – older for interstate travel and in certain states.
  2. Possess a valid driver’s license.
  3. Fulfill the ACPA continuing education requirement prior to testing in one of three ways:
  1. Complete the ClickSafety online safety training presentation course

  2. Instruction from an ACPA Authorized Training Administrator
  3. Attend an ACPA Operator Safety Seminar
  1. Possess the required amount of equipment experience time in a given section.
  1. Any operator who takes the certification test but does not meet the minimum equipment experience time in a classification will receive a “Safety Card”.
  2. Any operator who obtains the required amount of experience time within their current certification period and who has passed the appropriate certification test section(s) can update their certification classifications by submitting an “Affidavit of Experience Time” to the National Office.

Validation


Certification is valid for two years. The operator has until the last day of the certification expiration month to maintain certification. As an example, an operator who takes the certification test on January 3rd, 2021 will have until January 31st, 2023 to fulfill the continuing education requirement and take the certification test to maintain certification.
