Concrete Pumpers – Are You Subcontractors?

by Robert Edwards, NBIS

Anyone who runs a business knows that one of the keys to the business’s success is the ability to foster meaningful business relationships. This is especially true in the concrete pumping industry. Since the concrete pumping industry has gotten so specialized over the years, the ability to foster these relationships is especially important; most customers will continue to hire your company to pump concrete if you perform the job safely, are on time and have good equipment.

NEW ACPA MEMBER BENEFIT ANNOUNCED— DO YOU NEED OPERATORS?

One of the most critical obstacles facing many concrete pumping companies is the challenge of finding qualified candidates to become concrete pump operators. In fact, in a recent survey of the membership, over 80 percent responded they had planned to hire between one and five operators in 2016, yet many of their pumps still remain idle due to the shortage of operators.

CERTIFICATION TEST REVISION

The ACPA Certification Committee recently completed a review of the ACPA Operator Certification Test, and as a result, an updated version of the test, version 01.17, will take effect January 1, 2017. After this date, the National Office can no longer accept previous versions for grading.

ACPA 2016 Video Contest

Have your operators send us a short video on what they like about being a concrete pump operator and we'll enter them in our video contest for a chance to win a FREE trip to attend World of Concrete 2017!
