Every three years, the construction world meets in Munich, Germany, and throws the world’s largest heavy machinery tradeshow. Here, more than 600,000 visitors from over 200 countries walk among 3,600 of the industry’s biggest names and brightest innovators. It’s become more than a trade show. It’s a global showcase of what’s next: new machines, new ideas, and a new vision for how we build the world.
In 2025, bauma didn’t just break records, it broke boundaries. From electrification to automation, it was a glimpse into the future of construction on a global scale. Nowhere was that future more boldly on display than at the booth of a brand born in Germany itself: Putzmeister.
Under the motto “TOGETHER FOR TOMORROW,” Putzmeister made a bold and lasting impression at bauma 2025, showing the world that sustainability and innovation are not at odds; they’re driving forward together. Through groundbreaking technologies, bold product advancements, and a clear-eyed commitment to the planet, Putzmeister is leading the charge toward a cleaner, safer, and smarter construction future.
Leading the charge was the expanded iONTRON lineup, drawing crowds and sparking conversations around the future of electric-powered job sites. Visitors explored everything from the second-generation all-electric mixer to the iONTRON trailer pump and the GridXpress portable battery pack — each a step closer to zero-emission construction without compromising performance.
A lot of the iONTRON buzz came from the new electric truck-mounted concrete pumps. Cousins to the diesel-driven M42-5, these breakthrough fully electric and hybrid iONTRON models offer zero-emission transport and placement in one seamless system.
“It’s interesting because we do get jobs indoors, and they don’t want the pump inside for emission purposes,” said Scott Sutherland, owner-ship partner at AJ’s Concrete Pumping. “Being able to run the hybrid electrically is a big advantage.”
Pairing with the iONTRON line was INSTATIQ, Putzmeister’s all-electric 3D concrete printer. With extreme precision and speed, it showcased a window into the future of smart, sustainable construction.
The new generation Telebelt® TB 130 made its long-awaited European debut at bauma 2025, mounted on a highly mobile 10x4 Volvo truck and enhanced with the intuitive Ergonic® 3 control system. With a reach of 38.5 meters and the ability to deliver up to 275 cubic meters per hour, the TB 130 shines in tight and uneven work areas, and demonstrates exceptional versatility in placing concrete, gravel, sand or soil anywhere it’s needed.
“This new generation was redesigned with the people at Putz-meister America and everyone in Germany,” said Eric Duiker, owner of CanCrete Equipment. “It’s a major step forward.”
For Sutherland, a first-time visitor to a bauma tradeshow, the event was eye-opening and provided the unique opportunity of learning about the products directly from those involved with their creation.
He said, “It felt like every new machine they had — like the Telebelt 130, iONTRON, 67-meter boom pump — they had the key engineers there all day, answering questions and sharing insights about them.
You could tell these machines were personal to them. I’ve never experienced anything like that at a North American trade show.”
“It’s funny,” he added. “You’ll ask, ‘Did you design this?’ and they’ll say, ‘No, no, my team and I did.’ They’re incredibly humble. But you’re talking to the head engineer. It’s straight from the source.”
The highlight for many was Putzmeister’s new 67-meter boom pump. A major upgrade to the popular Putzmeister 63-meter, the M67-5 was a crowd favorite, and perhaps the clearest sign that Putzmeister is on the cusp of something transformative.
“The 67-meter is a slam dunk. It takes everything the 63-meter was and improves it. I’ve never seen more positive feedback on a new piece of equipment. Putzmeister nailed it,” Sutherland remarked.
Sutherland also noted how global innovation is pushing the industry forward in ways North American audiences may not fully appreciate yet. “In America, we’re very set in our ways. A bit resistant to innovation. Seeing what they’ve developed in Europe really opens your mind to what’s possible. Especially as it gets harder to find people for labor-intensive jobs, the shift toward automation isn’t optional any more, it’s essential.”
Beyond the machines, specs, and unveilings, Putzmeister’s presence at bauma 2025 was about pride — pride in the people who design, Beyond the machines, specs, and unveilings, Putzmeister's presence at bauma 2025 was about pride — pride in the people who design, build and support these technologies. Pride in bridging continents, disciplines, and ideas. And pride in building a future where innovation doesn’t just serve progress — it serves people and the planet.
As Sutherland put it: “There’s so much positive innovation coming from Putzmeister right now. This moment — what they’re showing right now — is going to change the industry more than it has in the last 20 years. The tech coming down the pipeline is going to change how we work.”
From electrifying innovation to sustainable engineering, Putzmeister didn’t just show at bauma 2025; it showed out with a message that resonated far beyond the show floor.: TOGETHER FOR TOMORROW.
Putzmeister made clear that the future of construction will be cleaner, smarter, and more connected. And if bauma 2025 is any indication, that purpose is just getting started.
