Quist Moves to Schwing Field Service

Longtime Schwing employee Carl Quist has transitioned to a field service technician position serving the Midwest. He has served in multiple roles at the company since starting in 1989, when he was a mechanic in main assembly. From there he advanced to lead/ coordinator positions in assembly before joining the engineering team as an electrical designer in 2002. “Carl brings a wealth of knowledge to the field service team, including hands-on experience,” states Jeff Popa, Schwing field service manager, “His nearly 30 years working in all facets of the manufacturing and electrical aspects of the machines will be invaluable to our customers.”

Because of his familiarity with Schwing’s state-of-the-art electronics, Quist will also be training Schwing’s other field service technicians on the company’s industry leading VECTOR and EASy systems. VECTOR is the company’s remote control system that allows two-way communication between the pump and the operator. It also retains important data for trouble-shooting and fleet management. EASy is the one-sided outrigger system that keeps the boom within safe parameters during short-rig pumping operations. Quist will also work with Schwing’s in-house service facility that updates and repairs radio remotes.

Quist joins a team of factory service technicians positioned strategically around the country that perform repairs on Schwing equipment. Carl will travel from the St. Paul area throughout the Midwest responding to customer service requests. Quist has a certificate in fluid power mechanics from Hennepin Technical College, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
