Nick Rice Named Schwing Field Service Tech

Schwing has added Nick Rice to its field service staff to support a growing number of customers nationwide. “Nick brings a wealth of expertise to the job to help us out in the Southeast region,” according to Myron Birschbach, vice president of aftermarket products. Rice served as a technician with a concrete pumper in Texas before joining Amerit Fleet Solutions, where his most recent position was replacing components on frac sand pumps in the oil fields. Rice joins a factory staff of Schwing technicians strategically located around the U.S. and Canada to provide 24/7 service for owners of Schwing concrete pumps and placing equipment.

Rice is a veteran of the Air Force, where he was an aircraft mechanic. He is a graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Fort Worth, majoring in technical management with a concentration in engineering. After training at the Schwing factory in Minnesota, he will relocate to Florida and work with veteran Schwing technician Tim Cotter. “After working in the concrete pumping business, I recognize the quality of the Schwing company and its equipment. It is an honor to be a part of the team,” says Rice.

Rice is one of many new hires at Schwing in 2018, with production workers being added steadily, including assemblers, welders and machinists. “New products like the 38SX and our new SP lineup have contributed to our sales growth,” according to Tom O’Malley, senior vice president of sales and marketing. The growing demand is across all sectors, including the company’s concrete pumps, truck mixers and newly-added loop belt conveyors.
