Schwing Sponsors CFA and ASCC Summer Events

July 20–23, 2017 found Schwing interfacing with customers and industry leaders at two major concrete related events: the Concrete Foundation Association (CFA) held its summer convention in Nashville, Tennessee, while the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC) presented its annual Concrete Executive Leadership Forum in Bluffton, South Carolina.

“Summer is a busy time for our company and our customers,” states Tom O’Malley, Schwing senior vice president of sales and marketing, “but the opportunity to support two important associations in our industry is invaluable, both professionally and personally.”

The CFA event was a three-day affair, featuring seminars focused on design, construction and performance for foundation contractors. Topics included soils, backfilling and waterproofing. Training seminars were also provided by the Tennessee Concrete Association on Insulated Concrete Wall forming and micro rebar. Attendees could also take the ACI/CFA Residential Foundation Certification Exam. Dinners and social events were combined with indoor and outdoor displays that included the new Schwing S 38 SX truck-mounted concrete pump with five-section placing boom.

The ASCC event attracted concrete and general contractors for three days of roundtable discussions, educational speakers and socializing. It was the association’s 25th year presenting the Forum. Keynote speaker Rich Rhoades, project manager for Disney Imagineering, was joined by leaders in economics, employee recruiting and risk management in addressing the audience over three days.

“Both events offer life-long learning opportunities and relationship-building,” explains O’Malley. “We are very grateful to be a part of both of these associations and encourage more industry leaders to participate.”
