In 2016, Ramcrete Incorporated, Hamilton, Ohio, a long-time leader in the concrete pumping industry, is celebrating 40 years of service to the construction industry. Founder Ron Morgan and his son Todd represent two generations of leadership in the industry, including service to the ACPA as board members. Like most early pumpers, Ramcrete overcame the bias against concrete pumps by working hard to establish the method. “We were fortunate to get in the business when reliable concrete pumps were coming on the market,” states Ron. “It’s amazing to think of how far the industry has come since the beginning.” The company standardized on Schwing equipment early in the company’s history and owns a fleet of pumps with booms from 20 to 61 meters, as well as several placing booms.
Besides their longevity as a pumping service, Ramcrete has distinguished itself with well-maintained equipment manned by professional operators. Many of the company’s pumping professionals have more than 15 years experience. All of the operators have been certified by the ACPA. “Safety is our highest priority,” explains Todd “Ongoing safety education programs and the integrity of our team are the foundation of this core value.” One of the company’s operators has received the ACPA Safe Operator of the Year award.
Ron has also been recognized by the ACPA with the prestigious Pioneer Award, which honors those who are influential in furthering the concrete pumping industry and who have served the association well. Ramcrete takes pride in the ability to provide careers for its family of coworkers, and boasts a vast resume of pumping projects including: Panorama Tower, Miami, the tallest building in the southeastern U.S.; The Great American Tower, Cincinnati’s tallest building; Ohio State Tower, Ohio’s largest continuous concrete pour; Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Cincinnati Bengals; and The Great American Ballpark, home of the Cincinnati Reds.
“Our success is tied to our people, our attention to detail and the ability to pump a wide variety of mixes on almost every project,” according to Ron. “I’m proud that we have remained a family business while maintaining the standards that our customers expect.”
