NRMCA Announces New Hires

In a push to counter the movement of wood into the low- to mid-rise market traditionally serviced by the concrete industry, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) has made three key hires.

James Bogdan joins as senior director, sustainability initiatives. In this new position, his primary objective will be to help position NRMCA members to meet new requirements in green building standards, such as LEED and Green Globes. Mr. Bogdan will implement strategies to support concrete’s position within green building standards, and manage education and certification programs such as Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Product Declarations, Responsible Sourcing, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Ingredient Disclosure. John Loyer has joined as senior director of state and local government affairs. In his new position, his primary objective will be to represent the association at the state and local levels to advance building code legislation and regulation that supports safer building construction. Mr. Loyer will be based in Northern Virginia; he is a highly regarded and successful advocate, with over 15 years of experience providing expert government affairs and strategic solutions to his employers and clients at all levels of government. Michael Wymant, an expert in real estate management and construction, has joined NRMCA as senior director, building innovations. His primary objective will be to offer technical expertise to developers and design professionals in order to incorporate cutting-edge concrete solutions into their building projects. Most recently, Mr. Wymant led corporate energy and sustainability initiatives for an international real estate management firm, and was the senior consultant for sustainable construction for a New York Citybased contractor.
