ST. LOUIS, MO January 18 – The American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, has completed the Spanish translation of its Concrete Finishing Training DVD. The 45-minute presentation provides finishers with basic instruction in hand and machine finishing slabs-on-ground and suspended slabs.
The presentation is divided into sections for easy viewing, stop/start, and review. The concrete finishing training DVD covers: Safety, Concrete Properties, Types of Finishes, Finishing Processes, Equipment, Joints and Troubleshooting.
Footage was shot on working job sites to best demonstrate correct finishing techniques. “This presentation is an excellent introduction to finishing basics for the new finisher, and a great review for more experienced employees,” said Mario Garza, chair of ASCC’s Education & Training Committee, the group responsible for this training tool. “Having a Spanish version is a great asset for so many contractors that have a bilingual workforce.”
The cost of the Concrete Finishing Training DVD is $75 for ASCC members and $95 for non-members. To order go to ascconline.org or call (866) 788-2722.
