New Hires Mean Operational Efficiency, Increased Sales and Market Knowledge

Arne King, Vice-President Operations
Bringing increased efficiency to Schwing’s purchasing, quality control and manufacturing is the new job of Arne King, Vice-President of Operations. His background lends itself to the job with similar positions at Pentair, manufacturers of pumping systems and WEIR mining equipment. “My role is to fit the operations process to the customer’s needs,” Arne says, “Which includes flexibility and efficiency to match the ebb and flow of the marketplace.” King’s philosophy of manufacturing incorporates lean systems, supply chain optimization and operational excellence. “I am pleased to be involved with a great brand, focused management and dedicated employees.” King resides near the Schwing plant with his wife. He has two children in college.

Ken Nigro, Western Regional Sales Manager - Ready Mix Products
Ken has been added to increase the market exposure for Truck Mixers in the western U.S. and Canada. He brings a solid background in ready-mix from positions with Lehigh Cement, where he managed $80 million in sales as the northern California sales manager, and most recently as sales manager for US Concrete’s San Jose, CA operation. US Concrete is a top ten ready-mix producer in the US with 105 plants. “The Schwing name has always stood for quality equipment, excellent service and a reputation for integrity,” Ken said, “And that was enough to attract me to the position.” Ken will continue to reside in the East Bay Area. “I look forward to reintroducing our Schwing truck mixer to the marketplace. We offer real advantages in safety with better stability created by a lower center of gravity and in reduced cost with extended drum wear and better fuel economy.” Contact Ken at 925-389-7828.

Glenn Donoghue, Marketing Analyst
Glenn Donoghue, Schwing’s new Marketing Analyst, comes to the company from a roundabout route. The University of North Carolina graduate accepted an internship in China from LiuGong Machinery, a 50-year old manufacturer of construction equipment, which turned into a three-year marketing position. Glenn used his fluency in Mandarin Chinese to provide support in trade shows, sales training, public relations, website development and product publications. He joins Schwing with additional responsibilities including forecasting and development of sales tools. Glenn has been exposed to construction equipment from an early age – his father was a sales and marketing executive with Case and Ingersoll-Rand.
