Schwing has published a new brochure featuring the company’s line of separate placing booms for mounting on most any structure for high volume placement hundreds of feet from the pump. The 12-page brochure covers applications and advantages of the Schwing exclusive octagonal masts, including mounting choices and specifications. Schwing manufactures three separate placing boom sizes—28, 35 and 37-meters—as well as truck-mounted concrete pumps with detachable placing booms, the S 39 SX and S 41 SX.
The brochure shows the advantages of Schwing’s separate placing booms and accessories, including the ability to free-stand to 70 feet without a counterweight. This is possible utilizing the octagonal boom available in four or six-meter bolt-together modular sections. Fast setup is assured with pipeline and ladder brackets integrated into the design. A self-climbing mechanism is also available for use with floor frames that allows 19-inch incremental repositioning of the mast and boom to accommodate overhead obstructions.
Mounting choices include: free-standing with masts using cross frames and ballasted frames; slab-supported mounting utilizing floor frames, pins and wedges; and zero elevation using cross frames for mounting on climbing forms, lattice towers, barges and concrete walls. Illustrations of the most popular mounting methods are shown in detail.
Two pages of boom charts illustrate above-and below-ground reach, boom section lengths and articulation, allowing customers to choose the right size boom for their application. Weights of the booms and separate power pack are shown. Multiple photos show Schwing separate placing boom applications around the U.S and Canada. Schwing also provides engineering support for customers who would like additional assistance.
