Schwing Bauma Trip Rewards New Pump Buyers

Customers who purchased a new Schwing pump in the latter months of 2012 qualified for a free trip to Bauma 2013, the largest construction trade show in the world, held April 11-17 in Munich, Germany. The trade fair attracted more than 500,000 attendees with 3,700 exhibits spread over 140 acres. The group toured the Bauma fair and travelled to Rome before returning to the U.S.

Schwing’s Bauma display featured a full array of the company’s line of concrete equipment including truck and trailermounted concrete pumps, separate placing booms, batch plants and truck mixers. Schwing GmbH, the parent company of the Schwing Group, maintains a permanent exhibit building with restaurant and bar at the Bauma site.

The Schwing contingent enjoyed a private party with Gerhard Schwing and his family at the world famous Hofbräuhaus in Munich. Other highlights included day trips in the German countryside before the group traveled to Rome. The Schwing America group was comprised of customers from Canada, Latin America and the U.S., along with executives from the St. Paul, Minnesota facility.

The trip culminated with stops in Rome that included the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, Trevi Fountain and the Coliseum. “It was a great opportunity for our customers to see some exciting new product developments and to reconnect with the Schwing family. The trip also provided a great networking opportunity for each of the attendees,” said Tom O’Malley, vice president sales, North America.
