Schwing Hires New Controller

Tao Xia has been hired by Schwing America to the position of controller. Xia brings an extensive work history to the job that will benefit Schwing for future growth. His international background is also valuable for global development.

Much of Xia’s recent work history has been with multi-billion dollar corporations including the position of senior financial manager of Valspar, one of the largest global coatings manufacturers in the world, and controller for Donaldson, a worldwide provider of air and liquid filtration systems. In his capacity at the two companies, Xia directed business expansion, developed business plans, advised on mergers and acquisitions and analyzed the effect of foreign currency appreciation. These positions also provided him with the opportunity to direct worldwide monthly financial analysis, quarterly forecasting and annual planning and budgeting. He also acted as advisor in contract negotiations that resulted in annual savings of over $1 million from lower working capital requirements, more positive cash flow and price protection from steel and foreign exchange fluctuations.

“Schwing’s financial future is tied to the global economy,” explains Schwing CEO Brian Hazelton. “Having a controller with Tao’s expertise helps position our company to capitalize on worldwide opportunities in the most advantageous manner.” Xia holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota.
