Schwing America Acquires Concrete Pump Repair

Schwing America is pleased to announce the acquisition of management control of Concrete Pump Repair (CPR) through the purchase of 50 percent of the company’s shares. Effective December 1, 2012, Concrete Pump Repair, located in North Branch, Minnesota, will operate as a subsidiary of Schwing America, Inc., a subsidiary of Schwing GmbH. Gerhard Schwing will continue as the owner of the remaining 50 percent of the company’s shares.

Concrete Pump Repair will continue to specialize in the reconditioning and repair of pre-owned concrete pumps. In addition, CPR will also remain committed to supporting customers in the sale of used and re-manufactured parts for boom pumps, stationary pumps and separate placing booms. Schwing America will continue as the “go-to” resource when customers want to upgrade into a new concrete pump by virtue of a trade-in.

Brian Hazelton, CEO of Schwing America states, “During the challenges of our market over the past several years, we have seen even greater customer emphasis on the strength of the Schwing brand residual in the pre-owned concrete pump market. The purchase of Concrete Pump Repair will allow us to provide customers with even greater value throughout the entire Schwing ownership period as we provide an even wider selection of pre-owned products and services. Schwing and CPR have been working together for more than 25 years, serving customers and enhancing the value of the Schwing brand. This combination of two leading, customer-focused teams well position our customers for the future.”

Current employees of CPR will be integrated into the Schwing America organization and this will result in a combined team of more than 25 aftermarket service and parts specialists. Additionally, the companies will integrate other customer services, including boom inspections, field repairs and the retrucking of concrete pumps.
