The ASCC Announces Keynote Speaker for Leadership Forum in July

Commander Kirk Lippold, USN (Ret.), Commanding Officer of the USS Cole when it was attacked by al Qaeda in the port of Aden, Yemen, is the keynote speaker for the Concrete Executive Leadership Forum set for July 25-28, 2013 at The Breakers, Palm Beach, Florida. The forum is an event of the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, Missouri, in partnership with Concrete Construction and Concrete International magazines.

During his command, Lippold and his crew distinguished themselves by keeping the USS Cole from sinking. The event is recognized as one of the most brazen acts of terrorism by al Qaeda prior to September 11, 2001.

The forum is a leadership and educational conference for CEOs, presidents, owners, CFOs, vice presidents and other senior level managers of concrete and general contracting firms. The weekend includes seminars, roundtable discussions, a golf tournament, and numerous other networking opportunities.

Other speakers include Anirban Basu, chief economist for the Associated Builders and Contractors; Dan Mitchell, The CATO Institute; and A. Ross Myers, American Infrastructure.
