Putzmeister America, Inc. has received two 2016 Summit Creative Awards in the Summit International Awards’ (SIA) 22nd annual competition. The winning entries were selected from 5,000 submissions from 21 different countries.
Putzmeister received a Silver Award in the “Card / Announcement / Invitation – Print” category for its “2015 Holiday Card,” which highlighted both a truck-mounted concrete boom pump and a concrete transit mixer in a tri-fold design, featuring intricate die-cutting and foil stamping.
Recent research from MIT’s Concrete Sustainability Hub found that a $10 million non-engineered wood building is expected to face $0.505 million in hazard related damages over 50 years, while a $10 million engineered concrete building is expected to face only $0.165 million over the same period. Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping, Inc., a leading provider of concrete pumping services in the U.S., announced today that it has completed three strategic acquisitions in the United Kingdom: Camfaud Concrete Pumps Limited, a national concrete pumping service provider based in the southeast of England, as well as Premier Concrete Pumping Limited and South Coast Concrete Pumping Limited. Tony Inglese re-joins the Concrete Pump Supply (CPS) team as CEO effective December 19th, 2016. In his new role, Inglese will oversee all operations for both Concrete Pump Supply as well as Enviro-Systems, Incorporated.
ST. LOUIS, MO – The Safety and Risk Management Council (SRMC) of the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, has published a new Safety Bulletin: OSHA’s New Final Rule on Crystalline Silica Dust.
The New Rule went into effect June 23, 2016 but allows a one year leeway for the industry to fully comply. The ruling cuts the Permissible Exposure Level (PEL) by half, a significant change that concrete trades need to prepare for. It also increases the amount of medical exams and recordkeeping required.

Schwing America Inc. (SAI) has announced its new leadership team of Bill Murray and Tom O’Malley following the recent resignation of former CEO, Brian Hazelton. Bill Murray, CFO for the past four years at SAI, has been named as CEO effective immediately. For two years prior to that, Murray held the position of chief restructuring officer and independent board member. Over his 30-year business career, Murray has held senior level finance, operating and consulting positions in several companies, including divisions of Daimler Chrysler and General Motors.
Dave Adams, president and chief executive officer of Putzmeister America, Inc. since January 2000, has announced Peter Mendel as his successor. Adams’ career with Putzmeister spans 20 years, starting with the company as its vice president of engineering, and his past 16 years as president and CEO.
