Bill Murray has been appointed chief financial officer of Schwing America, Inc. while also being added to the company’s board of directors. In his new position, Murray will have responsibility for the finance, accounting and information technology areas within the company. Murray brings valuable experience to the position after working with Schwing for two years during his tenure at Lighthouse Management Group, a leading management consulting firm in the upper Midwest.
Prior to his time with Lighthouse Management Group, Bill led organizations such as Autonation, Inc., GM’s Saturn Retail Enterprises, Daimler Chrysler’s Florida Detroit Diesel-Allison and Freightliner’s Commercial Vehicles of Florida, and Viacom’s Blockbuster Entertainment Group in senior level roles including chief financial officer, vice president of information systems, vice president of finance and other senior level financial and operational positions.
Bill graduated cum laude from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in business and began his career with Price Waterhouse and is a certified public accountant (inactive) and chartered global management accountant (CGMA).
Other new hires at Schwing America include seven certified welders, a CNC operator/ programmer, purchasing staff and an industrial engineer to assist in production at the 400,000-square-foot Schwing plant in White Bear, Minnesota.
These new hires, added since late August, are in addition to a round of hiring that was completed in the summer, which included many experienced former Schwing employees.
