The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA)–a non-profit international organization that serves to expand and improve the use of Tilt-Up as the preferred construction method–has announced the release of The Construction of Tilt-Up.
Schwing remains #1 according to the readers of Concrete Construction Magazine in a recently completed survey. Work continues on the final stages of the new ACPA Operator Safety Presentation DVD, which will become the mandatory education requirement beginning January 1, 2012 for all operators seeking ACPA certification or recertification.
If you own a concrete pumping business in the state of California, you’re probably held to some of the most intrusive and complicated regulations than all of the other 49 states—especially when it comes to complying with California’s stringent diesel emission regulations. But even though California may be many miles away, their programs are still viewed by some states as the “model” upon which to build their own regulatory programs, and these could directly affect owners of concrete pumps nationwide.
A new video produced by the American Concrete Pumping Association (ACPA) is now available for members to use as a promotional tool. The video titled “Concrete Pumping–The Future of Concrete Construction” uses high-definition video to show the economic, environmental, safety and productivity benefits of today’s concrete pumps. The ten minute presentation utilizes current projects with modern equipment to illustrate the value of concrete pumping.
The upcoming 2011-2012 ACPA Membership Directory will contain a new feature section, Professional Resources, which will allow ACPA members greater access to ACPA member services such as accounting, appraisals, boom inspections, insurance, financing, new and used equipment, accessories and other related concrete pumping interests.
An updated version of the ACPA brochure “Why Pump Concrete” has now been added to the ACPA’s educational and promotional library of materials and is available to its membership.
Featuring some of the latest and the most innovative pumping equipment in the marketplace, the brochure details the benefits and multitude of placing options available to meet the needs of today’s concrete construction projects.
Beginning January 1, 2012 a new element to the safety training education requirement for ACPA Operator Certification will be added to include completion of the ACPA Operator Safety Presentation Program.
As a requirement for ACPA Operator Certification, operators must fulfill ACPA sanctioned safety training. Fulfillment of this training requirement will be available in one of three ways:
"Although the new ACPA Operator Safety Presentation Program DVD is a great alternative to attending a live presentation since it affords easier access to safety training, it still cannot capture the interaction benefit of attending a live safety seminar,” says executive director Christi Collins. “Operators are able to relate with the speaker as well as share their real-life experiences with other operators and there is the opportunity to ask pertinent questions that are not addressed in the recorded program.
