The ACPA's 40th Anniversary Celebration

Back to where it all began...

Forty years ago this past March, a group of Southern California concrete pumpers led by Bill Drake, had the idea to form a national association that would represent the interests of the concrete pumping industry. They rallied together concrete pumpers, manufacturers and distributors from all areas of the country and officially met aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California on March 01, 1974.

Honoring an Icon

The ACPA kicked off its 40th anniversary year celebration with a cocktail party held in conjunction with World of Concrete at the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino on January 22, 2014.

Certification Changes Continued...

The next phase of certification changes will begin June 1, 2014, with implementation of the new certification test—version 02.14—as well as an operational evaluation for first-time operators taking the certification test.

Responsibilities for All Personnel on a Concrete Pour Now Specified in ASME B30-2014

The American National Standard for material placement system safety is ASME B30.27. (Material placement systems are concrete pumps and concrete conveyors.)

ASME has released B30.27-2014. It is currently available as an electronic download, and will be available in printed form after April 11, 2014. It becomes effective one year after the publication date.
