Tools For Building A Workforce

by Greg Sitek

Is there really a shortage of skilled labor for the concrete pumping industry? Go online to Google and type in “concrete pumping jobs.” In approximately 0.30 seconds my computer pulled up about 344,000 listings. The first listing states “Jobs 1 - 10 of 338 - 338 Concrete Pump Operator Jobs available;” the next listing contains the line “4210 Concrete Pump Operator jobs.”

The ACPA's 40th Anniversary Celebration

Back to where it all began…

Forty years ago this past March, a group of Southern California concrete pumpers led by Bill Drake had the idea to form a national association which would represent the interests of the concrete pumping industry. They rallied together concrete pumpers, manufacturers and distributors from all areas of the country and officially met aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California on March 1, 1974.
