William A. (Bill) Cross

Sadly, our industry lost one its true pioneers with the passing of Bill Cross of Cross Enterprises. Cross Concrete Pumping was one of the founding members of the ACPA with Bill serving on the ACPA Board of Directors and as President on the ACPA Executive Board. In 1994, Bill and his brother, Charles, each received ACPA Pioneer Awards. On a personal note, I will always remember Bill for his kind words of encouragement when I became the ACPA Executive Director many years ago. He always made a point to check in and see how I was doing, many times telling a funny story or just lending his support. He will be sorely missed by all.

Please join me in keeping his wife, Peggy, the Cross family and co-workers in your thoughts and prayers.

William A. (Bill) Cross

William A. (Bill) Cross was called home by his heavenly Father on Friday evening, September 23, 2022. He was born on September 16, 1940 in Lincoln Park, Michigan to William and Thelma Cross. He was the last surviving sibling of a family of ten children.

Bill served his country as a young man in the Navy. He had a strong sense of patriotism and love for his country. He and his brother, Charles, started Cross Enterprises in 1968. The successful business allowed Bill to do what he loved most, which was helping other people. He was humble in his generosity, yet he impacted many with his huge heart.  Bill was a legend in the Concrete Pumping Industry and his involvement in the American Concrete Pumping Association.  The Cross brother’s were there in the beginning of this industry and were proud to share so many wonderful relationships with other’s in the pumping business.

He was most proud of his Family. He was quick with the “I love you” and always wanted to know how he could help.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Reeves Cross, his children, Diane Cross, Debra (Dan) Galaska, Suzette (Michael) Honeycutt, and Derek (Ali) Cross. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren, Marisa (Anthony) Morales, William (Ashley) Morales, Page (Jordan) Zuk, Rachel Katz, Meredith Katz, Charlie Cross, and Liam Cross. His great grandchildren are Lorenzo Kuzera, Zander Zuk, and Miles Morales. Many nieces and nephews also survive him.

He professed his love for Christ, which serves as a source of comfort to his family. In lieu of flowers, Bill loved the charity, Wounded Warriors Projects.
