ACPA Partners with NRMCA for Habitat for Humanity Project

We are excited to announce the ACPA has joined the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s Build With Strength program in their partnership with Habitat for Humanity International. The program will fortify decent, affordable, and sustainable housing across the U.S.

Build With Strength will donate the concrete for the construction of Habitat homes and the Insulating Concrete Forms Manufacturers Association (ICFMA) will donate the required forms as well as assist in the design and construction of the projects. Both will work directly with local Habitat organizations to support home builds across 16 locations. The ACPA will be seeking pumpers from these areas to donate their pumping services.

Habitat locations for 2021 include:

  • Woodland Park, CO
  • Chico, CA
  • Northfield, MN
  • Athens, GA
  • Lincoln, NE
  • Missoula, MT
  • Dallas, TX
  • Albuquerque, NM
  • Hartford, CT
  • Baltimore, MD
  • Portland, ME
  • Des Moines, IA
  • Spokane, WA
  • Denver, CO
  • Joplin, MO
  • Puerto Rico, PR

A few of these locations are in areas that may have experienced some type of natural disaster such as hurricanes, flooding or tornadoes. Rebuilding homes with concrete offers homeowners a durable and more energy-saving alternative as opposed to wood construction, while also providing the opportunity for us to highlight its resiliency and sustainability in helping to establish concrete as a preferred building material.

Most of these projects will be new construction of single-family homes built with insulated concrete forms and will typically require several pours totaling approximately 70 cubic yards of concrete.

ACPA members who participate in the Habitat program will receive the following benefits:

  • Recognition in the ACPA magazine
  • National recognition through the Build With Strength/Habitat Program
  • Local community involvement and recognition
  • An opportunity to showcase your equipment and company with participating general and concrete contractors
  • A tax deduction for the cost of your pumping services
  • The opportunity to help struggling families find a new path forward in helping to provide safe, decent and affordable shelter
