Albert Schmidt

Dear Members,

I regret to inform you that Albert Schmidt, husband of Joan Andersen – Andersen Concrete Pumping, Chicago, Illinois – passed away suddenly on May 8th, 2013.

Devoted husband of Joan Andersen, loving father of Margaret Schmidt died suddenly on May 08, 2013.

Albert’s body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois.

Albert was born in Baum, Germany in 1947. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. He was honorably discharged as a 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), Technical Specialist, Grade 4.

After returning to Chicago, he joined the Carpenters Union. Albert worked in the construction field for over 40 years and for many prominent construction companies. Albert became a Superintendent and retired as a General Superintendent.

Albert loved all sports, especially soccer which he played in several leagues. He was also a great bowler. Albert also loved the out-of-doors.

His brother preceded him in death, Helmut Schmidt (Helen), nephews Stephen & Erick. Albert’s first wife, Angelika, proud father to Kevin and Bryan and grandchildren Austin and Haley.

Albert’s brothers-in-laws, Jack (Anna) Andersen, Robert (Kathleen) Andersen, Jim Andersen and many nieces and nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Margaret Schmidt’s education fund. Please make checks payable to:

A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 18th at the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Riverside, Illinois.
