After more than 24 years, Tom O’Malley has left Schwing America, Inc. (SAI) to take on a significant role at Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping.
Most recently, Tom O’Malley held the position of director of sales as senior vice president at SAI. He was also a member of SAI’s board of directors. O’Malley is, it is fair to say, a pump man and a Schwing man with heart and soul. He loyally accompanied Schwing through all the ups and downs.
Putzmeister America, Inc. recently hosted U.S. Congressman Bryan Steil (R-WI) for a factory tour and employee town hall. Representative Steil had the opportunity to meet with dozens of Putzmeister America employees and see them on the job, both in the office and in the production plant at the Sturtevant, Wisconsin facility.

Schwing America is pleased to announce the promotion of Tom Jaeger from service specialist to service manager, effective June 1, 2021. Tom brings extensive experience in customer service, solutions and communications to his position, along with several years of experience with Schwing America.
Putzmeister America, Inc. appointed Taylor Altom as a South-Central territory representative for Putzmeister America.
Taylor joins Putzmeister America after a previous role with ADP, where she worked as an outside sales representative. Taylor will be responsible for generating sales in the South-Central region.
The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) joins all Americans and all those affected in mourning the tragic loss of life in the collapse of the Champlain Towers South in Surfside, Florida on June 24, 2021.
While the causes of the Florida collapse have yet to be determined, the ubiquity of concrete structures in the U.S. and around the world calls for greater awareness and education to help ensure that they remain resilient and durable.
On June 7, the day before the opening of the World of Concrete trade show, the American Concrete Pumping Association hosted its first-ever Train the Trainer workshop. Train the Trainer workshops are part of ACPA’s improved Operator Safety Training and Certification Program, which launched in 2020. Referred to as “Certification 2020,” the program expands on its mandatory safety training requirement for certification and adds greater integrity to the certification testing process.
At the ACPA Annual Meeting, the ACPA held elections for the Executive Board. The meeting convened June 9, 2021, in conjunction with World of Concrete 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The newly elected Executive Board will serve a one-year term.

With more than 650 exhibitors covering approximately 300,000 net square feet of exhibit space, World of Concrete 2021 wrapped up on June 10 as a great success.
The first large-scale event in Las Vegas and the U.S. since the COVID-19 pandemic, World of Concrete 2021 was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and marked a significant milestone for the country’s emergence to business as usual. The American Concrete Pumping Association was proud to be part of the show, just as it has for the past 47 years.
Partnering with the American Concrete Pumping Association (ACPA) and the Insulating Concrete Forms Manufacturing Association (ICFMA), the Build with Strength Coalition is again working on an innovative residential project for Habitat for Humanity.
As the magazine goes to press, Washington enters yet another “Infrastructure Week.” Yes, another, but this time is different. The Senate and the White House negotiated the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, the Senate voted repeatedly to consider the legislation to implement the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, and we now await their action of the legislative language. The House of Representatives passed the INVEST Act last month. The House bill is similar in size and scope to the Senate Bipartisan approach, but takes a different approach on a number of programs.
