GREENSBORO, NC – Mack Trucks announced that it has relaunched its popular e-commerce site MackShop.com with new features to make it easier to find and purchase official licensed Mack® merchandise.
The updated site features advanced search filters for easier shopping, a customer-friendly account management system and an expanded product lineup, including an expanded women’s line, a larger heritage collection and a specially curated collection of items made from eco-friendly materials.
The “Big Bob” Weatherton Scholarship Fund is proud to offer scholarships to eligible class 1, 3, 4 and 5 members and their families, as well as to members’ employees and their families. Scholarships are for undergraduate, graduate and vocational students in fields related to Concrete, Concrete Pumping, Construction and Engineering, Construction Management and Administration and Vocational studies related to concrete pumps and trucks.
For the second consecutive year, Alliance Concrete Pumps donated the highest-selling auction item at the 2023 CIM Charity Auction, held at the World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas in January. This year’s donation was a 2023 Alliance JXLZ 38-meter concrete pump truck-mounted on a Kenworth T880, selling for $505,000. The proceeds of this auction benefits the Concrete Industry Management program, helping to develop the next generation of concrete industry professionals.
Lee Springer has been hired as the southeast regional sales manager for Beton America. In his new position, Springer will be responsible for sales of all Betonstar Concrete Pump products, including its complete line of truck-mounted concrete pumps and stationary pumps. Lee has a proven background in the concrete pumping industry, having worked in concrete pump equipment sales for the previous five years.
Donations from ACPA members helped the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program raise over $2.1 million in its annual auction, held in conjunction with World of Concrete on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
The record-breaking proceeds go to benefit a business-intensive program that awards students with a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in concrete industry management.
In January, the American Concrete Pumping Association traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to join more than 1,500 exhibitors at World of Concrete (WOC), the concrete industry’s largest annual gathering. With more than 48,000 registered attendees, WOC 2023 pushed the levels of attendance back to pre-pandemic levels.
WOC covered more than 587,000 net square footage of indoor and outdoor exhibit space at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with exhibitor booths benefitting from heavy foot traffic. The ACPA’s booth was conveniently located in the Central Hall.

On January 18, more than 150 ACPA members attending World of Concrete in Las Vegas started their day at ACPA’s Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation. Attendees enjoyed a free breakfast buffet and a moving tribute to industry members who have made outstanding contributions to concrete pumping. This year, four individuals were honored.

The extended race for the leader highlighted various, sometimes conflicting, positions that Speaker McCarthy must navigate within his caucus. This will be a challenging session.
As we turn our attention to a new year, we hope to leave much of the disruption of the past few years behind us. Indeed, the challenges of the pandemic years have also created a new business landscape — with its own opportunities, as well as risks. But moving into 2023, it’s to our advantage to remain focused on the fact that, through it all, the construction industry hasn’t wavered. In fact, the industry is better positioned to take advantage of the work that’s coming its way than it has been in quite some time.
