NEW for WOC 2024! A determined collaboration from the entire ready mixed, concrete pumper and placing teams is required to achieve a successful pour when using a concrete pump on the job. In this new session, attendees will learn how to prepare when working with a concrete pump, what to expect and most important, how to identify potential hazards that can lead to an unfortunate, and often times avoidable, accident.

Topics of discussion include:

• Pre-pour planning – size and type of placing equipment, special needs
• Site preparation for placement and ready mixed access
• Communication – hand signals, spotter responsibilities
• Mix designs – ensuring a pumpable mix
• Hazards such as entrapped air, power lines and tipping
• What you should expect from your concrete pumper
