How you lead your team has a profound impact on the culture of your company; a weak foundation, much like concrete, will develop cracks over time. Servant leadership requires you have the humility, insight and courage to acknowledge that you can learn from people at all levels and support them in accomplishing the goals of your organization. It is one of the most effective approaches to guiding team members toward an outcome that fosters growth, contentedness, and encouragement. The team members in your company also have a responsibility to take ownership of their position and the outcomes of their own leadership.

During this dynamic session, concrete contractors, Rocky Geans and Tommy Ruttura, will give insights into how you can build a culture – from the bottom up - that creates added value to your contractors, reinforces your safety program and evokes the best from your team members.

Topics to include:

  • How is your company perceived by your team members and contractors?
  • What value can a pumping company offer to set themselves apart from the competition
  • How to say “no” when you “know” it’s not safe and mean it!
  • What you can do to support your operators, managers and every team member in your organization.
  • Team members must take ownership of their position, it’s responsibilities and the outcomes of their own leadership.

Purchasing a truck-mounted concrete boom pump is a major investment. While you probably do a great deal of homework before purchasing the pump, how much do you really know about the features and technology of your truck chassis?

This session is chock-full of answers to many of the questions you should consider before purchasing your next truck chassis and gives insight into technological advancements and improvements that will improve your overall ownership and operating experience.

Covered topics include:

  • On-board engine, transmission, ABS, and chassis diagnostics
  • Telematic systems
  • Tires
  • Comfort features/cab amenities

Your pump doesn’t work unless your truck is up and running. Before your next pump purchase, learn what options may be available from your chassis supplier-of-choice that can give you more uptime, safer operation, reduce operating costs, and an increased return on your overall pump and chassis investment.

Your concrete pumping system is only as strong and reliable as the sum of its parts. Ensuring that each component of your placing system can withstand the stress and pressures required to pump concrete goes a long way towards giving you the assurance of a safe and successful pour.

Significant advancements have been made in both the output that concrete pumps can deliver and the line pressures they can develop; the pipeline capabilities must match the pump capabilities. In this session, Construction Forms, one of the leading manufacturers of concrete placing pipe and accessories, will give you tips on how to get the most out of your pumping systems and parts, when they need replaced, and how to select the proper pipeline for your next project.

You’ll also learn:

  • The differences between single-wall and twin-wall pipe and what pumping applications are best suited for each one
  • What factors you should use when determining the proper pipeline for a project
  • What pipe should you use on high-pressure projects?
  • “Heat treating” what it means and why it’s important
  • The significance of “CPMA Certified” and why maintaining compliance with the ASME B30.27 Safety Standard will help protect your bottom line

Given the large amounts of data generated by daily-user activities, are you getting the most out of that data? Ever wonder what Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) others are looking at?  Rapid Apps will show you how to leverage your data to gain higher-value insights into your organization’s operations in areas such as maintenance; digitized operator management; equipment utilization; when and what type of equipment to purchase; productivity and much more. You’ll also learn industry trends and operational pitfalls.

Data insight management can be a daunting, and often overlooked, aspect of new technology as it requires periodic operational reviews. Find out where and how to start the process!

Increasingly stringent diesel engine exhaust emissions regulations have played havoc on concrete pump trucks over the years. Is the worst over or is there more to come? In this session, industry experts Rick Keen, Matt Gross and Ray Hasting will focus on emission requirements, the regen process and product improvements Mack has made to increase reliability. As well, you’ll get their insight into what may be in store for the future and Mack’s plans for tailoring their products and strategy to align with the industry’s needs.

Frustrated with your service team? You’ll learn how to ensure you obtain the optimum customer support experience before and after your next truck purchase.

Buyer beware! Have you ever purchased a used concrete pump only to realize later that what you actually bought was someone else’s headache? This session will begin with used equipment expert, Dale Bone, Jr., giving you tips on what to look for and how to better distinguish a good purchase from a bad choice, which will help limit your risk before you make that next used equipment investment.

Next, Dave Wright (lead engineer) and Jon Carrier (technical support and training expert) will offer advice on troubleshooting problems in the field, as well as dispel the myths associated with Putzmeister’s Ergonic Operating System.  They will also introduce the new Ergonic 3 Operating System (it really is the best of Ergonic 1 and 2!) highlighting its new interface that provides intuitive system navigation, multi-level emergency operation, reintroduced control panel display diagnostic and maintenance tools, and a remote control that combines the best of past and present designs.

This session offers practical strategies and legal guidelines about how to protect your company from risks associated with operating a concrete pumping business.  All these tips can save your company thousands of dollars in litigation costs and in future insurance premiums, but more importantly, will allow you to operate your business safely with less fear of liability.
