SCHWING has announced the promo-tion of Mack Hanbury from the field service team to a key role on its sales team. This strategic move leverages Hanbury’s four decades of unparalleled experience in the Central Florida concrete pumping industry, where he has been instrumental in some of the region’s most iconic projects.
Hanbury’s career began in 1982 with Apex Concrete Pumping, coinciding with the massive construction boom that shaped modern Central Florida. He gained a diverse and extensive education, operating pumps on everything from high rise towers and extreme distance placements exceeding 1,000 feet to specialized underwater pours with diver coordination. This foundational experience provided him with an intimate, practical understanding of what it takes to succeed in demanding pumping environments.
In 1997, he transitioned into equipment sales as Apex became a SCHWING line pump dealer, allowing him to couple his field expertise with a new passion for customer support. Following the closure of Apex in 1999, Hanbury joined Cross Enterprises of Florida, bringing the SCHWING brand with him. During his 23-year tenure at Cross, his role was multifaceted: he trained new operators, managed SCHWING pump and parts sales, assisted with dispatch, and remained the go-to operator for the most challenging high rise and extreme distance line pump jobs.
Since joining SCHWING directly in 2022 as a field service representative, Hanbury has deepened his technical knowledge of the equipment from the manufacturer’s perspective. Now, in his sales role, he will be responsible for fostering client relationships and providing expert equipment consultation throughout his region.
Hanbury will continue to be based in Central Florida and can be contacted at mhanbury[at]schwing[dot]com.
