A successful Technical Sales Representative acts as the face of the organization; while taking the time to build relationships with their customer base, understand unique customer needs, and provide solutions with the Ultra Tech product line. As a global leader, the Ultra Tech brand engineers unique, value-added piping systems and accessories of a technical nature that are used in a wide variety of applications. To be a successful Technical Sales Representative, you must have strong knowledge of Ultra Tech products and basic engineering fundamentals, which will be developed through in-house training. The Technical Sales Representative uses their technical expertise and customer service skills to add value for new and existing customers. Technical Sales Representatives ensure accuracy of quotes or orders and facilitate the successful completion of the sales cycle from lead to product delivery. Some travel may be required to customer sites or trade shows.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or another relevant field or equivalent work experience required
Prior experience in a sales, sales support, or a customer service role preferred
Excellent communication, customer focus and attention to detail required
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Valid driver’s license required for travel to customer sites or trade shows
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred, but not required

Responds to request from customers for information with accurate and complete product quotes
Uses detailed understanding of the full product catalog to educate customers in technical solutions and specifications
Identifies opportunities to upsell or cross sell and closes additional purchases of product
Engages in technical discussions with current and potential clients through demonstrations or presentations in the field
Conducts visits to established key accounts as needed
Identifies additional revenue opportunities through frequent customer communication, trade shows, and other avenues
Answers customer phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner
Inputs customer quotes and orders accurately and efficiently
Follows up after issuing quotes and provides reporting on why a customer may not have purchased Ultra Tech product
Interpret product blueprints and work closely with Engineering
Represents Ultra Tech through various prospecting methods including phone, online, field sales, and national or regional exhibits and trade shows - up to 25% travel may be required
Keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports
