Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, Four Arrows Concrete Pumping, Inc. (FACP) requires that an individual be willing to learn and comprehend the operation of a concrete pump as well as some basic mechanics that may be involved to keep the pump in good working condition. An operator MUST have good customer-relation skills, communicate well with others, and can problem solve under stressful situations. Physical requirements and demands are listed below. • A current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) • Clean Motor Vehicle Report • Successfully passing a drug test • Insurance approval to drive company vehicle • No disqualifiable records on the FMCSA Clearinghouse will be required to operate a boom pump. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Completion of a successful pre and post trip “Daily Vehicle Inspection Report” every day • Drive the pump in a safe and conscientious manner to the job site and back to the yard. • Set up and operate the pump in a safe and conscientious manner and complete a wash out and clean up of the pump after the job. • Clear understanding of equipment and safety manuals. • Light repair of pumps: Some maintenance is required. Know the pump well enough to recognize problems and report them. • Customer relations: Represent FACP through efficient work and courteous service; our company mission statement is, “WE AIM TO SERVE”. • Keep the pump and truck washed and free of concrete and grease. • Keep system free of concrete. • Washing and polishing the pump and truck regularly, during down time between trucks or arriving early on jobsite is a requirement. • Yard: Return system after use to appropriate location in yard. • Keep yard neat and orderly. • Record and submit accurate job tickets and timecards daily in designated drop box. Physical Demands: • Must be able to meet DOT requirements for hearing and seeing. • Must be able to customers, coworkers, and supervisors professionally and respectfully • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. • Must have good balance and dexterity to climb on and around the pump and maneuver around a construction site with many obstacles. • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds to overhead position. • Must be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds. • Must be drug and alcohol free and able to pass a random drug test. Typical Daily Duties: • BEING ON TIME IS A MUST! • Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspection of the equipment and ensure all maintenance standards are met (i.e., air brakes, oil, water, tire inflation, lights, safety kit, clean windows, and mirrors) *See Daily Vehicle Inspection Report* • Safely and productively operate pump, including monitoring controls, setting outriggers, and using proper pumping techniques. • Monitor and visually inspect concrete ready-mix to ensure there are no foreign objects, verify load size, check for proper slump, and adjust accordingly and keep copies of first and last ready-mix tickets at minimum. • Achieves maximum productivity by meeting and/or exceeding established productivity standards, i.e., pumping truck in allotted time provided contractor is not requiring a slow pour. • Adheres to all safety and company standards and rules including, but not limited to proper wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, jeans, boots and gloves) • Ensures all safety rules are adhered to by co-workers and customers and reports any safety violations to supervisor. • Continuously monitors the equipment to ensure proper operation and minimal down time. • Routinely connect hoses and pipes using hand tools. • Clean hopper, hoses, pumping equipment, and wheels on equipment. • Position hoses and pipes so concrete is discharged in the Contractor’s desired location. • Dispose of excess concrete in environmentally safe manner in area that is provided by Contractor. If no such area is provided by the Contractor, the pump must return to the yard for proper cleaning and the job ticket must be signed and notated, “no wash out area or water provided”. • Performs and documents minor service and maintenance on equipment. • Performs post-job walk around to ensure all hoses, clamps, reducers, soft trimming hoses, remote, and other miscellaneous job items are loaded and secure on pump before leaving jobsite. • Inspects equipment condition and reports any necessary repairs to supervisor when needed. • Ensures that equipment is properly cleaned, serviced, and parked at the yard at the end of each shift. • Maintain a positive work attitude • Sign and return compliance forms to the yard bin required by in a timely and efficient manner. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
