Are you looking for a career that challenges you, rewards you, and puts safety first? Do you have what it takes to be a Concrete Pump Truck Operator for a local, successful commercial concrete firm? We are seeking a Concrete Pump Truck Operator for our 2018 Peterbuilt/Alliance 38-meter boom pump truck. We pump concrete for work primarily in Eastern Pennsylvania and surrounding locations. Duties and responsibilities of this role include: • Drive the concrete pump truck to and from job/project locations. • Set-up the four out-riggers on steady ground and stretching out the 120-ft boom. Checking for hazards and stability. Set up includes maintaining critical time schedules and adhering to all safety requirements. • Pre and post inspections of the vehicles. • Manage and adjust the remote hand controls to operate the boom as well as keeping a constant flow of concrete on site. • Ensure smooth functionality of the concrete pump truck. • About 90% of our pump jobs are for our own job sites. The remainder is outside customer based. In those scenarios, operator will communicate with customers as required for the pump job. • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills are a preference for this role. • Maintenance the pump truck. Perform in-house minor maintenance (such as checking hydraulic fluid levels and quality, engine oil levels, greasing components and torqueing nuts & bolts on boom and steel concrete pipe) • Cleaning of the concrete pipes, concrete hopper, interior & exterior of the truck. • Safety-conscious mentality is a must. • Must be organized and on-time. Time is extremely critical to the concrete pump operations each day. • This is not a drive-port-to-port-and-sit-in-the-truck-all-day job. This is very hands on, estimated 10% driving and 90% operating and keeping the truck at a readiness state for the next day. This is a rewarding position for a company that stands behind its employees, and the pay, hours, and benefits reflect that. Training: • Concrete Pump Truck Operator should be certified by the ACPA (American Concrete Pump Association). Training and certification will be supplied by Employer, if not already available for Operator. Qualifications: • Must have a commercial driver's license (Class B). • Must have a clean driving record. • Must be able to pass a drug screen test and physical. • Must be able to work a variety of hours, some travel required but never overnight. • Must live within the Lehigh Valley area, to ensure no long commutes delaying critical pump schedules. • Construction and/or concrete experience is a plus, but not required. Our benefit package includes Medical, 401K with Company Match, paid Vacation and Holidays. All experiences (beginner through advanced) will be considered for this position and salary will reflect. Candidates with existing Class A Manual 80,000lbs license are a plus (pay will reflect), as there are some opportunities in between pump jobs to move equipment. Yearly pay increases and year-end bonus, in line with employee evaluations and performance. ACPA training and certification will be provided as needed. Job Type: Full-time
