Schwing Adds Vice President / General Manager, Parts and Service

In announcing Myron Birschbach as the new vice president / general manager of aftermarket sales and service, Schwing America’s CEO, Brian Hazleton, stated, “The ability of Schwing America to exceed the expectations of our customers after their initial purchase is of utmost importance to us.” Birschbach brings extensive experience to the newly created position. His responsibilities will include parts sales, product support and training and warranty.

Birschbach was most recently with Inland Power Group, where he was senior vice president for the distributor of Detroit Diesel, and MTU diesel engines, Allison transmissions, EMD diesel engines, MTU Onsite Energy power generation equipment and GE Jenbacher gaseous-fueled engines and gen-sets. Prior to his tenure at Inland Power Group, Birschbach served in various roles for Detroit Diesel.

“I have taken the opportunity to listen to Schwing’s customers, and I am confident that we can maintain and build on the tremendous after-sale support that the company has established,” Birschbach commented. “One of the strongest incentives that creates customer loyalty for genuine Schwing parts is our experienced call center.”

He also reinforced the message of Keep It Safe, Keep It Schwing. “Our customers place significant value on equipment uptime and safety. They recognize there is a huge risk in buying parts that might fit, versus OEM Schwing parts that not only fit, but are engineered to work together for optimum performance, and are backed by a strong warranty commitment to the industry.” Birschbach added, “We are in the business of parts and service, but we ultimately sell uptime, which is a valuable commodity to our customers.”

Hazelton noted, “Myron will work with veteran Schwing employee, Glen Grabowski, who will focus on the service aspect of the business, utilizing his long term relationship with many of our customers and his ability to quickly respond and resolve service issues.”

Birschbach is based at Schwing’s Minnesota headquarters, relocating from the Chicago area, where he and his wife Barbara raised two sons and a daughter.
