Schwing Hires New Regional Manager in Latin America

Schwing America has hired a new regional manager for South America. Octavio Perdomo Berdugo will represent the company’s line of concrete pumps, truck mixers, recyclers and batch plants in South America except for Brazil, where Schwing has a manufacturing plant. He replaces Jorge Beals who served for five years in the position.

Berdugo brings more than 14 years of related experience to concrete customers and Schwing distributors in the region. He was the head of concrete plants and crushing for Conalvias, one of the largest contractors in Columbia. The position required his hands-on involvement with material handling including concrete pumps. He later worked for IC Gayco in Colombia, a producer of concrete and aggregate, as plants production director where his main responsibilities included sales, customer service, cost control and management of raw materials. His most recent assignments include Cemex in Argentina where he was the production manager of concrete, which included quality control and management of concrete pumping, and Grace in Chile developing new admixtures.

Berdugo is a civil engineer with a degree from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia. “We are very fortunate to have Octavio as our representative. His experience aligns with the support our dealers expect and our customers will appreciate,” notes Jose Amezaga, Schwing vice-president of Latin America.
