Testing Process

Written Test Process


  1. Operator and test administrator must complete and sign the front cover of the certification test where applicable.
  2. Operator must complete and sign the “Certification Application” on page 2 of the test booklet.
  3. Operator must have signed verification of their equipment experience time from either their supervisor or authorized person.
  4. Test must be witnessed under ACPA procedures by a designated person of the operator’s employer and provide a signed affidavit included on page 3 of the test booklet.
  5. The Operator Safety Presentation “Affidavit of Completion” on page 4 of the test booklet must be completed by the operator and his supervisor unless the operator has attended an ACPA Safety Seminar within the past two years.
  6. When testing at an ACPA Safety Seminar, the “Verification of Experience Time” on page 2 must be completed by the employer or person authorized by the employer and signed by both the operator and authorized person and then sent to the National Office.
  7. When testing at an ACPA Safety Seminar, the (ACPA endorsed) Test Administer should check each test for errors on the application page and verify the operator took the required sections for certification.

Testing Process


  1. Certification test is a “closed” book test with no help from others.
  2. Operator must take Section 1—Safety/Technical; plus at least one other section in order to obtain certification/safety credentials.
  3. To obtain 50-meter and larger certification, the operator must complete Sections 4 AND 5.
  4. Clearly mark only one answer for each question.
