This tour will guide you through a town of stately mansions, charming row houses and tree-lined streets. Come see what makes this former port town so charming and explore parts of this historic and architecturally unique town that was home to both George Washington and Robert E. Lee and pre-dates Washington D.C. as a former British colony. On this guided, narrated walking tour, you will experience and learn about Old Town Alexandria’s significance throughout the history of our country.
During the tour, you will also discover locally owned and operated restaurants off the beaten path, and have the opportunity to stop and sample specially made dishes at long standing family-owned restaurants. The food choices will pay homage to the city’s colonial roots, as well as its recently evolved food scene, as you partake in both colonial and modern indigenous cuisine.
